This time last year: The many outfits of Mr. Rajah Banerjee, managing director of the Makaibari Tea Estate. Darjeeling, India. May 2013.
I’m pleased to present my first ladies vest purchase in Berlin: 80s/90s era Art Deco in soothing pastel pink and taupe with various non-offensive shapes. Similar to generic hotel art of the era. Perhaps you’re familiar with my signature gold vest.
Yes, they’re Prada
I purchased these shoes on my first trip to New York in 2004 at Barney’s. Nine years of solid, versatile, and stylish shoe performance.
They’re perfect for traveling. I’ve taken them to Germany, Switzerland, London, Istanbul, Japan, and Hong Kong. And more recently to India to the tea fields of Darjeeling and Nilgiri.
After India I discovered the soles were beginning to separate. I installed ribbon to keep them together and took them to a local shop in Berlin. They’re now back in full working order.
Invest in good shoes. You deserve it.
My friend Scott has had this sweatshirt since 2004. I think he bought it at a thrift store. See him wear it. Page from Spruce magazine, Autumn/Winter 2001
