Returned Leaves with Tea

Last October I collected autumn leaves in Plänterwald and mounted them at home. Now one lear later I wanted to return the leaves to the same forest to be digested back into the planet naturally. I brewed an oolong tea to celebrate the occasion.

The great naval oranges from our orange tree in the back yard.

This year the skins were thinner and slightly bumpy, the flesh softer than usual, but still incredibly flavorful and juicy. San Jose, California.

Tea in Plänterwald

Tea in Plänterwald, a forest in Berlin, with two good friends. I brewed a Chinese Yunnan (black) tea. The color of the brew complimented the surrounding colors. The tea cooled quickly allowing us to sip and easily enjoy a malty flavor, mixed with the aroma of a recently rained autumn forest.

A walk through Plänterwald, a forest in Berlin

A walk through Plänterwald, a forest in Berlin. October 2016

Berlin is known for it’s art scene, but not known for being a pretty city. Here I can escape the feeling of a city (just 20 minutes by bus from my house) and enjoy very natural art in a very peaceful way.
