I found the perfect broach for my Mom on her birthday this year. In the past I’ve gifted her such items, always a very tasteful mix of color and structure. This one has a bit of a story: made by hand in the 1930′s in Germany. Purchased from the great antique shop Rose of Fame in Berlin.
My mom at her sewing machine, at home in San Jose, California.
A fine example of Pieracci Domestic Engineering. Labels on the exterior of a bbq propane tank are unsightly. Therefore, my mom has wrapped the tank with a decorative brown plastic material to enhance its appearance.
Greetings from the Bay Area, California. My mom giving a tour of the garden.
I’m pleased to introduce my parents, Larry and Jo Anne. Here we are at the Observation Deck at Zürich airport. My mom is feeling quite empowered to take her own photos with her new iPhone, in a stylish Kate Spade case.
The two broaches I wore during TYPO SF on Flickr.

Each day of TYPO SF I wore a different broach on my lapel. Each came from my mom’s collection.
