Growing up in the 1990s, before the internet, I had several sources for music: my older brother (rock, alternative), my nerdy friends (classical, soundtracks), my parents (folk, classical), and of course MTV and VH1. I didn’t really like rock, alternative, and hip-hop but there was a way to see the lighter side of those genres: MTV Unplugged.
My favorites:
- R.E.M, 1991
- 10,000 Maniacs, 1993
- Mariah Carey, 1992
- Nirvana, 1993 (interesting rehearsal video)
- The Cranberries, 1995
- Lauryn Hill, 2000
Unplugged wish list:
- Queen Latifah
- Enya
