Returned Leaves with Tea

Last October I collected autumn leaves in Plänterwald and mounted them at home. Now one lear later I wanted to return the leaves to the same forest to be digested back into the planet naturally. I brewed an oolong tea to celebrate the occasion.

An exhibition of leaves in my flat in Berlin.

First, a variety of autumn leaves collected from Plänterwald. Preserved in layers of heavy canvas to help keep shape, but without crushing them.

Second, fronds from my balcony fern. I managed to save just a few before turning completely brown.

Dried Yunnan Leaves on Flickr.

Via Flickr:
These were from my yunnan cake. After they dried overnight I noticed the leaves remained quit hairy! I stepped them again and it produced a very dark color with a light flavor.
